I bought a 1997 Pontiac Firebird Trans
Am late in 1996. It came with t-tops, chrome wheels, 6 speed manual
transmission, leather seats, and the Monsoon stereo. I've done a
few things to it but I bought a fast car so I wouldn't have to modify it
much. I've added a MAC STB (strut tower brace), relocated the IAT
sensor (intake air temp.), disabled CAGS (the skip-shift thing) and put
in synthetic fluids in the engine, transmission, and differential.
I've also added minor things like chrome lug nuts (those plastic black
caps are ugly!) and PIAA 959 fog lights because one of the stock ones broke
and the dealer wanted too much money for a replacement. I made my
own cold air intake with some 4" intake hose and a big 9" conical K&N
filter. I also added a Decoma cat-back exhaust system with some nice
tips on the ends. In the future I'd like to add subframe connectors
and short throw shifter. Oh yeah, I also added a bunch of stereo
equipment I had leftover from my previous car (a 1991 Ford Escort GT).
